Opinion: More Important Things Than Winning and Losing

Opinion: More Important Things Than Winning and Losing:
"Screw the loss. That's right, screw it.Screw the first and goal from the 3 to win.

Screw Nugent's missed field goal, screw the dropped passes, screw the blatant defensive holding penalties, screw the fact that my boy Brooks Bollinger played out of his gourd, again proving that he should be starting, not Mr. Testaverde. For as heartbreaking as all that was yesterday, what hurts more is to think that I may have just seen Wayne Chrebet's last catch as a Jet. Wayne's last game? As always, when the Jets needed him on a third down, Chrebet made a catch and got the ball a yard past the stick to keep the drive going. In the process, Chrebet was tackled hard by Chargers' cornerback Jerry Wilson and his head banged off the turf. From the close-ups that I saw, I could immediately see in Chrebet's eyes what had happened, and by the way he lazily released the ball after the catch. The more I think about it, the more odd it seemed, kind of a nonchalant 'I don't need this anymore.'If this is the end, how can anyone aptly sum up Chrebet's career? How can you put a statistical value to Chrebet's tenaciousness? Chrebet could be counted on to help come up with big plays when the Jets needed one, and he will be tough to "
